In this paper, we propose an approach for
fast 3D modeling of nonground objects using cube voxels and texture mapping.
All points in the nonground buffer are divided into small sections that vary
according to the position of the robot. Using a voxel map as reference, the points within each group are
then utilized to extract key points. From the lists of key points, we create a
list of triangle meshes and implement texture mapping using 2D images obtained
from current frame camera images. This method allows the performance of
real-time 3D scene reconstruction to achieve an image of higher quality than
that obtained via a colorized particle method. Results demonstrate that our
method is efficient, easy to implement, and robust, as it can be applied to
many different types of 3D point cloud data. |
